Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Lecturer Suzanne L. Marchand, Boyd Professor of History at Louisiana State University, will speak on "Tracking Herodotus' Readers since 1700: The Travails of Writing Reception History" in a seminar presentation. A major focus of her research has been the history of the humanities, especially classical studies, art history, anthropology, history, and theology in modern Europe. Professor Marchand's two-day campus visit is sponsored by The Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Berkeley chapter PBK Alpha of California. This more specialized presentation is based on her work in progress and is co-sponsored by the Departments of History and of Ancient Greek and Roman Studies.
