This course will serve as a rapid introduction to the main texts and problematics of Classical Greek literature (drama, historiography, oratory and rhetorical theory, philosophy, epic, pastoral, epigram, the novel, biography, the New Testament; and more) from the late 5th century BCE to Late Antiquity (5th century CE).
Course Requirements: 800-1000 lines of poetry or 25-30 pages of prose of Greek reading per week (in the original Greek); weekly quizzes; 1-2 short stylistic analyses ("close readings").
